Dr. Schmitt graduated from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry in 1985. She received her Bachelor of Health Sciences degree at the University of Kentucky and practiced as a dental hygienist for five years prior to dental school. After dental school she completed a general practice residency at the University of Kentucky where she concentrated on more complicated dental reconstructions, oral surgery and anesthesiology. She moved to Orlando in 1986 where she worked as an associate in the area until opening up her practice in Oviedo in 1988. Dr. Schmitt has taken numerous hours of postgraduate education in occlusion and cosmetic dentistry at the Pankey Institute and the Center for Advanced Dental Study in St. Petersburg Florida, as well as numerous courses at the Seattle Institute For Advanced Dental Education. She is a member of the American Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association, the Central District Dental Association and the Greater Orlando Dental Society. She is married to David (Dr. Ross) and they have four children. She is active in the community as a dividend in her children's schools and enjoys running.
